Ambire Mobile, powered by goodmorning: One of the first mobile apps with true smart account features

Knowledge Background

TL;DR

Ambire needed to bring smart accounts to users' pockets fast. Their team had the vision, but not the mobile chops. Enter goodmorning: we shipped Ambire's first mobile wallet for iOS and Android with a single React Native codebase, delivering a unified experience without the headaches of maintaining separate native apps. The result? Feature parity with the web wallet, 10K+ downloads, and a codebase so good it powered their browser extension later on (which, by the way, we also worked on).

About the product

The Ambire Mobile App was one of the first wallets to bring true smart account features to mobile: batch transactions, gas tank (pay fees in any token), dApp browsing, and seamless integration with hardware wallets - all wrapped in a self-custodial, email-and-password-friendly package. For a while, it was the only way to get Ambire's full power on the go, and in 2023, it matched the web wallet feature for feature.

The challenge

Ambire needed a hybrid solution that could run on both iOS and Android without building (and maintaining) two separate native apps. The kicker: it had to keep up with the web wallet's rapid evolution, and users wanted it now.

“We knew we had to go mobile, but didn’t want to split our focus or double our workload. goodmorning’s experience with React Native and their knack for shipping made them the obvious choice.”

Our approach

We kicked things off with a proof of concept, making sure the core Ambire experience could translate to mobile without compromise. Once the basics clicked, we went full throttle: building out the app in React Native, leveraging our battle-tested Web2 experience to keep things smooth and secure. The real trick? Abstracting the business logic into a shared package (ambire-common), so every update landed on both web and mobile - no more chasing bugs across two codebases.

Team Approach
“Building the mobile app wasn't just about porting features. We designed a system where one change could sync across platforms, saving time and sanity for everyone.”

The solution

We shipped not one, but two mobile apps for iOS and Android using a proven tech stack: TypeScript, React Native, Expo, React Navigation, Ethers.js, Ledger/Trezor SDKs, Jest. That meant faster updates, fewer bugs, and a unified experience.

Key highlights of the Ambire mobile app

Web3 CTO Icon

dApp browser

Use any dApp (like Lido, Aave, UniSwap, CowSwap, SushiSwap) directly in the wallet, with a curated catalog for DeFi power users.

Web3 CTO Icon

Lightning fast keystore decryption

Outperformed the competition by optimizing crypto libraries for mobile.

Web3 CTO Icon

Seamless integrations

Hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor, GridPlus), WalletConnect, on/off-ramps (MoonPay, Guardian, Ramp Network), and more.

Web3 CTO Icon

Feature parity with web

Batch transactions, flexible fee payments, and more - no compromises.

The final result

Ambire Mobile hit the stores running - 10K+ downloads on Google Play and Apple App Store, and feature parity with the web wallet. The shared codebase became the backbone for future products (including the browser extension), and the collaboration with Ambire only got stronger.

"We were blown away by how quickly goodmorning got us to feature parity and how easy it was to keep everything in sync across platforms. That's why we kept them around for the next big thing."

In 2025, the mobile app was temporarily unlisted during a strategic rebuild. By unlisting it for now, we ensure that new users won't encounter any unexpected limitations while the team prepares the next phase for an even better mobile experience because smart accounts belong in your pocket, not just your desktop.
