Devcon 7 Bangkok: goodmorning makes waves in the Web3 capital

TL;DR: Goodmorning’s engineers attended Devcon 7 Bangkok (Nov 12-15, 2024) through the Ambire partnership, with Bobby delivering a technical talk on Schnorr signatures in account abstraction and Kaloyan networking with Web3's biggest names. The result? Strategic connections across the ecosystem and expert recognition in the AA space.

The mission

Two of our engineers - Kaloyan Kosev (Kalo) and Borislav Itskov (Bobby) - joined our Ambire project partners in Bangkok, attending Devcon to represent the wallet we've been building together for years. The mission was simple: network with crypto OGs, flex our technical chops, and make sure everyone knew goodmorning was in the building.

Bobby takes the stage

The highlight? Bobby's talk at the ERC-4337 Hub on "Using Schnorr signatures in account abstraction." This came from an Ethereum Foundation grant we won, where we completed an MVP showcasing how to use Schnorr signatures with a Safe Wallet.

Bobby's presentation was about sharing Schnorr’s key advantages with the community - enhanced user privacy and minimal gas costs. The technical implementation allows multiple signers to collaborate without revealing their public keys onchain, while signatures can be aggregated offchain and then verified onchain with standard ECDSA, keeping gas costs low.

The AA Hub audience was small but perfectly targeted - fellow grant recipients and developers deep in the AA weeds. These are the conversations that shape standards and influence implementation decisions across the ecosystem.

Networking that matters

Kalo's networking game was on point. He connected with developers and decision-makers from:

  • Infrastructure giants: Ledger (including co-founder Nicolas Bacca), Alchemy, Nethermind
  • DeFi protocols: AAVE, Lido, Rocket Pool
  • AA ecosystem: Pimlico, ZeroDev, Elytro (prev. SoulWallet)
  • Ethereum Foundation: Direct conversations with Yoav Weiss and Tom Teman
  • Plus: Gnosis, Starknet, Scroll, and dozens of other key players The conversations weren't just handshakes - they were deep technical discussions about DeFi usage patterns, account abstraction implementations, and the future of Web3 UX.

The vibe

For the goodmorning team, this was our first Devcon experience, and we were blown away by the energy and scale of the Web3 crowd coming together. Devcon 7 delivered that classic crypto conference energy - BTC hit all-time highs (multiple times), the AA community hub buzzed with innovation talk, and the entire ecosystem felt electric.

Why this matters

These aren't just conference wins - they're strategic positioning moves. When goodmorning engineers are speaking at Devcon and building relationships with the Ethereum Foundation, Ledger co-founders, and protocol teams, it signals our deep integration into Web3's technical core.

The connections made in Bangkok will likely influence partnerships, collaborations, and technical directions for months to come. That's how you build lasting impact in Web3 - not just through shipping code, but through owning your space in the community.
